about

This is Wieuca's first offering. Self-recorded and self-produced. We were just starting to learn how to record music so it's rough around the edges.

Track Name: Landing the Cruiser
It's an instrumental, fool!
Track Name: Hemlock
Your friend braids your hair. That white tanktop is more than I can bear. We live so far away from here. What are you doing tonight, I feel like I haven't seen you in years.

How did this ever happen? I guess it doesn't really matter. We've been...

Waiting so long. I'm not gonna get in the middle of whatever's going on. Waiting so long. I'm not gonna get in the middle of whatever's been going on.

There's no place to go but straight forward, windows open, a million miles an hour, eight cylinders smoking. Before this wild trip stops we'll make love and keep our clothes off, say goodbye and drink the hemlock.

Then it's like it never happened. When we drop it nothing shatters, and you've been...

Waiting so long. I'm not gonna get in the middle of whatever's going on. Waiting so long. I'm not gonna get in the middle of whatever's been going on.

The ending starts slow like the start of a whirlpool, but before you know I'll have to try and forget you. You're going back to home and comfort. I'm going away. Only God knows which one's better, you know, sometimes I think even He's been...

Waiting so long. I'm not gonna get in the middle of whatever's going on. Waiting so long. I'm not gonna get in the middle of whatever's been going on.
Track Name: Hartford
We got to Hartford after dark in a yellow trojan horse to take the people by storm and take the world by force. You gotta love that summer air. It's like second hand smoke. Can't remember how we got here but I heard you when you spoke. You said

It's raining in Atlanta but I don't even know because I'm far from home tonight. It's raining in Atlanta but I don't care at all because I'm in love with you tonight.

Holding hands and singing songs we finally make it back home. I'm working all summer long but there's plenty of time for you. I know that Jesus was a healer but the father painted that sky. All along the Atlantic I thought I heard you cry. When you cried you were like

It's raining in Atlanta but I don't even know because I'm far from home tonight. It's raining in Atlanta but I don't care at all because I'm in love with you tonight.

Never thought that you'd love me and I still don't see what the attraction is. Know your hands get all bloody, but that's how you do surgery. Young love does not exist of course, but how come I fell in love in Harford
Track Name: Portable Portal
Yours is black but mine is older so it's faded into kind of a gray. Bring them both when you come over. How can I make you stay for a few days?
Cause I've been staying up later and waking up older, and the way you look at him is the anvil on my shoulder.

Nail the stakes into the corners. He's only gone a couple of days. Take a girl and bring your brother. She's dancing fine but she can't walk straight.
Cause she's been staying out wasted and waking up with somebody else. And the words that you're saying to me are a lie, I can already tell.

A blanket and the ground make our bed.
A weekend in the woods to clear my head.
Getting to know each other is tedious.
The wait is over til it starts again.
Track Name: Low Probability
Accept my apology. You know it pisses me off when you act like there's nothing wrong. Emily, promise me you won't starve me of knowing what's going on.
I'm tired of having to guess. I guess I'll keep trying.
Gold tie to match your yellow dress. Hopefully I'll get another chance.

I feel like I'm rooted in the ground and you're walking away from me.
You act like I live way out of town when I just live up the street.

Knowing me, honestly, how could you mix me up with one of them?
And one thing that bothers me is maturity's absence on either end.
I'd hate to pretend that you're wrong. I need to work up the nerves to tell you that I wish you'd just play along, but obviously that's your call.

I feel like I'm rooted in the ground and you're walking away from me.
You act like I live way out of town when I just live up the street.
Track Name: Drive Into the Briars
I can't get you to talk to me. Your sunglasses are to dark to see the friends around you even though you're squinting. You hold your liquor pretty well. I hold a woman tight as hell. Put down that Solo cup because I have something to tell you.

You wake up drunk a few days a week, pretty face and 17. Smiling all the time so I can't tell the cold from heat. Particles of dust collect on my new tires as I drive into the briars.

I can't get you to listen or respond to the name you were given. How come every time you leave there's something missing? Particles of dust collect on trophies in your room, that godforsaken coruscating tomb that had me shaking in my boots.

You wake up drunk a few days a week, pretty face and 17. Smiling all the time so I can't tell the cold from heat. Particles of dust collect on my new tires as I drive into the briars.

And if I wake before I die, you be my girl, I'll be your guy. Holding hands, thinking about the world we left behind. But if you leave before I get home, you leave me sitting all alone without a way to calm my nerves. I guess that's why the silence hurts.

Wake up drunk a few days a week, pretty face and 17. Smiling all the time so I can't tell the cold from heat. Particles of dust collect on my new tires as I drive into a fire.

And if I wake before I die, you be my girl, I'll be your guy. Holding hands, thinking about the world we left behind. But if you leave before I get home, you leave me sitting all alone without a way to calm my nerves. I guess that's why the silence hurts.

And if I wake before I die you'd probably still not recognize
how hard it is for me to stomach all your lies. But if you wait til I get home I'll have you anchored like a stone.
